Il est de notoriété publique que de gros efforts doivent être fait de la part de l’ensemble des acteurs économiques sur leurs manières d’interagir avec l’écosystème dont ils font partie afin de renverser la machine infernale du dérèglement climatique.  Cela se traduit par l’intégration d’une stratégie de développement qui, en plus de fixer des objectifs de performances financières, fixe des objectifs de performances sociales et environnementales.

Cette responsabilité qui nous incombe en tant qu’entreprise, nous en avons fait une ligne de conduite, une différenciation, notre ADN. Si nous mettons en place une méthodologie zéro carbone avec pour vision la neutralité carbone en 2025, notre investissement en matière d’écoresponsabilité ne s’arrête pas là. En effet, nous avons créé la ‘PRADEEP GLOBAL FOUNDATION’, une ONG sponsorisée par PRADEEP SARL dont la vocation est le partage, la sensibilisation aux enjeux du développement durable et la mise place d’actions à hautes valeurs environnementales.

Pour l’année 2021, nous sommes allés en Inde et y avons développé un programme spécifique de développement des consciences aux enjeux de la protection de l’environnement. Le choix de l’inde fait écho à ce qu’est Pradeep avant tout : l’association de deux entrepreneurs, l’un Français, l’autre Indien dans un projet de mutualisation des connaissances au profit d’expériences responsables. Ce programme, nous l’avons divisé en 3 grandes thématiques :

L’éveille de la conscience environnementale

En partenariat avec le 36eme bataillon du « National Cadet Corps » de la région d’Uttar Pradesh -qui est une organisation tripartite composée des « jeunes ailes » de l’armée indienne qui comprends l’armée de terre, la marine et l’aviation- Pradeep Global Foundation a mené une campagne de sensibilisation aux thématiques de l’environnement. Plus de 230 cadets ont donc pu, au travers d’ateliers d’échange, percevoir une formation sur les gestes responsables et la culture du développement durable de manière plus large.

Le nettoyage du Gange

Le Gange est un fleuve de 2 525 km qui prend sa source dans l’ouest de l’Himalaya, dans l’État indien d’Uttarakhand. Le fleuve abrite environ 140 espèces d’animaux, 90 espèces terrestres et aquatiques, ainsi que des reptiles et des oiseaux. Par ailleurs, le Gange est un fleuve sacré dans la religion Indouiste et y voit ses adeptes s’y ressourcer par millions.

Malheureusement le Gange fait face à une pollution sans précédent où de nombreux industriels y déversent leurs déchets ce qui impacte fortement toute la faune et la flore locale. Avec le 36eme bataillon du NCC, c’est plus de 12 460 kg de déchets qui ont été récoltés tout au long du fleuve dans la région d’Uttar Pradesh.

La reforestation

Les arbres profitent à l’Inde de nombreuses façons. Tout d’abord, il y à l’industrie du bois dont l’Inde est très dépendante pour son développement. En 2017, la production nationale s’élevait à presque 50 millions de m³ de grumes dont seulement une petite partie est exportée.

Les forêts sont également de puissant puits de captation carbone, plus utile que jamais pour un pays aussi émetteur de CO² que l’Inde.

Enfin, les forets abritent une vie sauvage très riche qui entretient naturellement les cycles de vie et qui nourrit les populations.

C’est en sachant tout cela que nous avons avec le 36eme bataillon du NCC planté au cours de l’hiver 2021 plus de 8 000 arbres dont les deux tiers étant des arbres à fruits.

It is common knowledge that great efforts must be made by all economic actors on how they interact with the ecosystem of which they are part in order to reverse the infernal machine of climate change.  This translates into the integration of a development strategy which, in addition to setting financial performance targets, sets social and environmental performance targets.

This responsibility, which is incumbent on us as a company, has become a line of conduct, a differentiation, our DNA. While we are implementing a zero-carbon methodology with a vision of carbon neutrality by 2025, our investment in eco-responsibility does not stop there. Indeed, we have created the ‘PRADEEP GLOBAL FOUNDATION’, an NGO sponsored by PRADEEP SARL, whose vocation is to share and raise awareness of the challenges of sustainable development and the implementation of actions with high environmental values.

For the year 2021, we went to India and developed a specific programme to develop awareness of environmental protection issues. The choice of India echoes what Pradeep is all about: the association of two entrepreneurs, one French, the other Indian, in a project to share knowledge for the benefit of responsible experiences. We have divided this program into 3 main themes:

Raising environmental awareness

In partnership with the 36th Battalion of the National Cadet Corps of the Uttar Pradesh region – which is a tripartite organisation made up of the “young wings” of the Indian armed forces( including the army, navy and air force). Pradeep Global Foundation conducted an awareness campaign on environmental issues. More than 230 cadets were trained in responsible actions and the culture of sustainable development in a broader sense through exchange workshops

Cleaning the Ganges

The Ganges is a 2,525 km long river that originates in the western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The river is home to about 140 species of animals, 90 terrestrial and aquatic species, as well as reptiles and birds. Moreover, the Ganges is a sacred river in the Hindu religion, and its devotees flock to it in their millions.

Unfortunately, the Ganges is facing unprecedented pollution with many industrialists dumping their waste into the river, which is having a huge impact on all the local flora and fauna.

With the 36th battalion of the NCC, more than 12,460 kg of waste were collected along the river in the Uttar Pradesh region.

Reforestation

“Reforestation helps fight climate change, uplift communities and restore biodiversity”

Trees benefit India in many ways. First, there is the timber industry, on which India is highly dependent for its development. In 2017, national production amounted to almost 50 million m³ of logs, of which only a small part is exported.

Forests are also powerful carbon sinks, more useful than ever for a country as CO2 emitting as India.

Finally, forests are home to a rich wildlife that naturally sustains life cycles and feeds people.

With all this in mind, we and the 36th NCC Battalion planted more than 8,000 trees in the winter of 2021, two-thirds of which were fruit trees.
